Anybody wanna play Tennis?

With the US Open in full swing (actually almost over), my kids and I are crazy for tennis. After school, late at night under the lights, all we do is want to play. The problem is the different skill levels and finding a nice way to say it. There’s a lot of diplomacy going out there on the courts. Who plays with whom. Who’s better? Everyone wants to play tennis “up” as the expression goes.

“I don’t want to play with him”

“he sucks”

“All I’m doing is chasing balls”

Then when we finally manage to work out who plays who…the matches begin and the real arguing starts. Balls are called out that are supposedly in. Double faults on the serve that were not faults. Foot faults, line calls and general fighting and arguing. And then of course the name calling. It’s exhausting.

Can’t wait for the Open to be over. Maybe next, we’ll get into the World Poker Tournament.
