The rain in New Jersey

I haven’t seen it rain like this in a very long time. At first it’s kind of nice being holed up at home, TV going, weekend NY Times at my side, kids next to me. Our backyard is a lake, our gutters are overflowing and the driveway is like a river running down toward the house. I feel like at any point our house will lift up off its foundation and float away. The garage ceiling has sprung a leak and the overall quaintness of the cozy moment is beginning to dissipate. I am ready for the rain to stop but it only seems to be getting more intense. The only saving grace is that it’s over 32 degrees out there.
