The World Cup brings my family together

In reference to two previous blogs of mine about the World Cup and the sandwich generation, I can honestly say that today watching the U.S. beat Algeria to advance to the next round took both those topics to the next level. My dad was there, my kids were there and a whole bunch of friends as we watched our country rally in the final couple minutes of the game to score their much deserved goal to win. After the ref’s wrongly stripped the U.S. of a goal in their game against Slovenia and again today against Algeria (it was NOT offsides)….justice was finally served when Landon Donovan scored in the 91st minute. We all exploded with applause. My kids jumped on my dad, my dad jumped on one of my friends (he almost killed him)…it was a euphoric free-for-all. Three generations of Aronskind men joined together hugging and screaming. Brought together by one thing — soccer.

Can’t wait for Saturday….U.S. versus Ghana. Go U.S.!!!!!!!

  1. Good day great day Go USA!!! God bless Donovan!

  2. Oh my brother-in-law jumped on my sister in the same way on the night when Obama was elected. Keep up the family exuberance and joy!
